Modern Slavery Policy

Modern Slavery Statement

Workwear Supermarket’s commitment to ethical working practices, responsible supply chains and the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Human Trafficking and Slavery Policy

Workwear Supermarket is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships. We are committed to helping ensure that slavery and human trafficking do not take place anywhere within our business.

We expect all manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and other organisations within our supply chain to comply with this approach and to operate in accordance with ethical working practices.

Workwear Supermarket has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our Commitment

We recognise the importance of responsible business practices and the role we play in helping to prevent slavery, forced labour, exploitation and human trafficking.

Our approach is based on working with suppliers who are expected to maintain suitable policies, procedures and standards within their own organisations and supply chains.

  • We aim to act ethically and transparently in our business relationships.
  • We expect suppliers to follow fair and lawful employment practices.
  • We encourage awareness of modern slavery risks across our business.
  • We take concerns seriously and respond appropriately where potential issues are identified.

Due Diligence During the Reporting Period

Before entering into agreements with manufacturers and suppliers, Workwear Supermarket may provide them with a compliance form designed to address areas of potential risk within the supply chain.

This process helps ensure that suppliers have their own clearly defined ethical working practices, including suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies, and similar processes within their businesses.

We require confirmation that suppliers comply with all relevant requirements as declared in the Modern Slavery Act 2015 prior to business transactions taking place.

Supply Chain Risk Management

Due to the volume of supplier relationships throughout our business, we recognise that a risk-based approach is appropriate when seeking to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business or supply chain.

Where appropriate, we assess supplier risk based on the nature of the goods or services provided, the location of supply, and any information that may indicate potential ethical, labour or compliance concerns.

Any instance of suspected non-compliance will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Staff Awareness and Reporting Concerns

Workwear Supermarket encourages staff to identify and report any potential concerns relating to slavery, human trafficking, forced labour or unethical working practices.

Employees are encouraged to raise concerns with management where they suspect that modern slavery or human trafficking may be taking place within the business or supply chain.

  • Concerns will be treated seriously.
  • Reports will be reviewed appropriately.
  • Action will be tailored to the nature and severity of the concern.
  • Where necessary, supplier relationships may be reviewed or terminated.

Non-Compliance

We assess any instances of non-compliance on a case-by-case basis and tailor our response appropriately.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include requesting further information, requiring corrective action, reviewing the supplier relationship, suspending activity, or ending the business relationship.

Ongoing Review

Workwear Supermarket will continue to review its approach to modern slavery and human trafficking as part of its ongoing commitment to ethical and responsible business practices.

We will continue to monitor supplier relationships and encourage staff to remain alert to potential risks within our business and supply chain.
